French Exchange
I can hardly believe that it is that time of year again. We said goodbye to Arthur and Thibauld only a short time ago and here we are again. Two 11 year old boys arrived on Monday night all smiles and excitement. Their English is limited but then so is my French so we are having fun communicating! As no-one in this house speaks any French other than me, there have been a lot of hand signals followed by lots of laughter. They have been polite and have not laughed too much at my French but they have corrected it which is good.
I am much more chilled about it this year. I have the menu sorted and I am enjoying the experience much more than last year. I enjoyed it last year but I was stressing! The boys are lovely and speak the common language of Playstation and football (Man Utd and Lyon played last night on the TV). Eleven year olds must be very similar the world over!!
They think Evie is very funny. She chats away oblivious to the fact that they can't understand her. The other children are loving having company to stay and being able to play with stuff that is usually limited to weekends only. I am not sure they are learning much French.
I am reeling a bit from getting 6 children out of the door for 8.15am and still carrying on with the homeschooling activities. The children have a Biometrics lecture this afternoon courtesy of Bath Uni and then we have to collect and feed the tea etc. I have a busy weekend as well so I am taking one day at a time!
